Is IVF the only option?

Hi all!

After an unsuccsessful TTC year, my husband's analysis came back very negative : severe teratozoospermia (with low motility).

We have been advised to directly go for IVF procedure!

I was said that IUI would not help because of poor grade a motility and very low normal morphology.

Is there anything we can do to avoid IVF besides taking men's supplements and keeping healthy habits?

I do not know anything on artificial treatments...and this situation is very stressful.

Thank you.

I honestly believe that there are two very stressful aspects to ANY fertility treatment. The actual procedures themselves take their toll emotionally as well as physically, but I think one of the biggest hurdles is mentally facing up to what the medical realities are and deciding to take the leap of faith to pursue the difficult road of IVF.

Gathering information as you can (like you're doing here) is a big part of mentally deciding to move forward with IVF or any treatment for that matter. Having said that, there are lots of people that have years and years of trying without definitive explanations as to why. Not to minimise what you're going through but as something has been identified as a possible reason for the infertility to can actually be more focused in addressing it to achieve the child you've always wanted. Also, they do say that denial is the first phase of acceptance ;-)

If you've not already tried it, look up the tcoyf.com website (based on the book 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility' by Toni Weschler). Super helpful about making sure you're doing everything you can do, naturally, but with lots of great advice about all other options too.

Good luck with whatever you decide and good luck with getting that BFP! :) HTH

Thank you for your valuable comment. We have been doing everything possible to make it the natural way but now we beleive it is reasonable to seek specialist attention for infertility.

I already read TCOYF and it is a fantastic book that I also recommend !
