Something elastic and stretchy for firming. Any recommendation on brand?

got mine from Sogo on the children's floor/maternity floor - brand called gennie. They also had what I called a "belly bra" which was before birth - additional support for you while pregnant.

The stretchy belt thing lasted very well my first pregnancy and was a bit less effective during my second. Another one of my friends told me for TRUE efficacy, you're supposed to replace it after three weeks and then wear it.

I found it REALLY good to help support my back after birth. Koreans are really into it here to make sure that your body sort of "reforms" itself. I don't necessarily believe that aspect of it, but I do know that it supports you and forces you to sit up and stand straight which will eventually tighten up your stomach muscles.

My physio says not to use these, as they do not allow you to strengthen your own muscles which is what you need to do in the long term.

Although I completely see the attraction and temptation!

So you might want to check with a physio what the best thing is for you?

Agree that postnatal exercise is the ultimate way to firm up and strengthen the muscles down there, but I just reckon if I'll need some external help :P

HKCC - you mean the most effective way is to replace a new belt every 3 weeks??

Basically you should use about two. I didn't wear mine for more than six weeks so you would have one for the first three and then another one for the second three. Then afterwards I was relying on gentle exercise (which I did also while wearing it) to help me get back into ship. I did definitely find it great for the back support aspect of it.
