I'm travelling to BKK with a 2-year-old whilst 6 months preg. I would love some advice on the following:
1) Where to go for a seriously good pregnancy massage (complete with the hole-for-your-belly bed!);
2) Where to shop for newborns / toddlers;
3) Toddler-friendly activities in BKK;
4) Toddler-friendly restaurants in BKK.
Many thanks!

Hi, I spent a few years in Thailand (though not in BKK). I can't answer your questions directly, but seriously, BKK and Thailand is totally toddler friendly. Not in the western sense, but just in the way that it doesn't matter, you can bring them anywhere bc everyone does. Thai people will be very interested (if you're white) in your child and will even help you take care of it!
As far as massage places go, I think that since there are soooo many places and spas, that once you're there you can ask your hotel to recommend someplace for you.
For shopping, higher end shopping malls are in Siam Square and National Stadium area - there are lots of western conveniences(restaurants, brand name shops) here, but the prices are western. For cheap(and I mean cheap!) baby stuff, I would just go to open air markets. Chatuchak weekend market in the north part of they city is by far the most famous one and it's HUGE. But it's best to go very early to avoid crowds and a toddler might get very overstimulated there so it'd be best to keep the outing short. But most of the local clothing is for warm weather, just to keep that in mind.
I don't know of any activities good for toddlers there. When my friends who have small kids go down there they just do the same as the adults, except play while they're doing it.
For restaurants, it's the same - they can go anywhere.
Thailand is really friendly and family oriented and people will love to look at your child and try to talk to you.
And, God forbidding, should anything go wrong with you or your pregnancy, there are wonderful private hospitals there, better than anything I've seen in HK. I used to go to Samitivej Sukhumvit, but there are 4 locations. Also Bumrungrad is famous. These are world class hospitals. I wish I were having MY baby there...
Have fun!

Hello there, I find Emporium shopping mall quite good for toddlers, there's Jamboree on the 3rd floor where they can play very safe and clean. Though its not as grand as Siam Paragon ( both are accessible from the Skytrain ) u can find almost everything ( high-end fastfood, shopping for the whole family etc. ) It depends how long you going to stay in Bangkok, otherwise if you fancy a nice walk you go to Lumpini Park ( near Silom area ) Been living here for 2 years, thye said its fun to to go Chatuchak week-end market, have been there ony once. The famous MBK has everything about electronics, gadgets & souvenirs. As for massage for preggy ladies I haven't found one when I was pregnant ( was too worried about the language barrier )
