Stretch Mark Removal Cream

ORIGINAL POST

Hi,

Most of the stretch mark posts are quite old so just want to ask if anyone can recommend a good stretch mark removal cream.

I'm using the moisturising cream right now, but I'm really paranoid that I might get stretch marks and not notice them until after I've given birth. I'm due in two weeks.

So I thought I would buy some good stretch mark REMOVAL cream (as opposed to the prevention moisture cream) and use it after I give birth.

Of course, it must be safe for breastfeeding.

The only one I know of is strivectin SD that people use for anti-wrinkle, but I don't know if this is safe for breast feeding.

Anyone used any good scar minimising creams that worked?

Hi Slammy,

essential oil like mandarin blended with base oil like sweet almond ..etc is good for stretch mark while it is natural . This help to rebuild the eslasticity of the skin.

Slammy,

I hate to be the one to break the news but believe what you may, use cheap or expensive creams, however no amount of lotions or potions will in itself prevent stretch marks. The one thing that will prevent them is genetics. If you're prone to stretch marks, you'll get them, if you're not, you wont get them noticeably. Luckily I hardly got any and that's unless you look really really close up with a magnifying mirror and I only ever used my normal cream that I use every day whether pregnant or not. When your baby pops out and in years to come, it will be a pleasant memory of what brought them about. Otherwise I have heard many people believing that Cocoa Butter helps, I just don't like the smell of it.

Best of Luck with your pending arrival.

Hi all,

Thanks for your replies. Yes, I know it's not possible to prevent stretch marks so that's why I was hoping to find a decent cream to minimise their appearance. Luckily, I've given birth now - three weeks ago - and there's only a few tiny stretchmarks that are not that obvious! I've been using the cocoa butter - fortunately, I LOVE the smell of it! :-)

Most of the creams available to reduce stretch marks do not help relieve the sagging skin that also accompanies childbirth. Some women have very severe stretch marks that impact their self esteem after pregnancy. There are many treatments available for women that want to improve the appearance of their stretch marks.

Hi Slammy

Congrats on your new arrival. I just saw this post now and just wanted to share my website page http://www.copacabbana.com. Will be open to the public for orders around Mid-November. I am not sure you will need this now as you are using the cocoa butter but there is a Mommy section.

thanks
