Just turned 40 and my doctor back home said I have the physical condition of a 25 year old ! Only slight neg. point is a fat womb(?) Husband healthy too but still not luck after a year of trying (but not trying really hard). What's the next step? I see all kinds of abbreviations on here (IUI, IVF etc) which frighten the lfe out of me. I have heard of a temparature method which pinpoints ovulation. What is this and where can I get more info etc?
So, basically, what to do at this stage as we seem to be ready but need a little boost somewhere
All advise welcome

Yeah there's a test kit you can buy in the pharmacy. Ask an OB/GYN or fertility specialist doctor. He/she knows.

Filial,
The temperature method involves taking your temperature every morning with a BBT thermometer (available at prescription counter at Mannings or Watson). Before you ovulate, your temperature generally stays in a low range. After you ovulate, it jumps higher and stays at the higher range until your next period. Depending on the length of your cycle, you need to have intercourse every day or every alternate day a few days after your period finshes (before you ovulate - usually mid cycle), to a few days into the higher temperature range. That way, you should be able to cover your ovulation time and the days around it. There is lots of info about this on the internet (eg www.babymed.com) and also in a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility - Toni Wechsel. You could also try an Ovulation Predictor Kit, available at Watson, which gives you advance warning just as you are about to ovulate.
Since you are 40 and have been trying for a year, it may be sensible to be a bit more proactive. This can be as simple as taking fertility drugs and having an IUI (artifical insemination) at the right time in your cycle. You will need to see a good fertility doctor/OBGYN for this.
