Hi,

Anyone had gone thru the laparoscopy surgery ?

Can anyone advise what to wear on the day, during 1 night stay & after surgery ?

What to bring during the surgery day ?

Need 1 night stay or 2 night stay better ? As I don't have anyone to care for me.

So nervous can anyone give me advises in point form ? need to fast 6-8 hrs ?

Did anyone had the laparoscopy done with skin tags removal by same doctor - any scar ? or engage skin surgery doctor to remove skin tags ?

Regards,

Anxious crying baby :(

You should really be speaking to your dr asking him EXACTLT what this procedure involves. I had one done man many years ago i too was alone at the time. They make a small incesion thru your belly button and another small one lower beneath your panty line. I was in quite a bit of ppain for a couple of day so my advice is to see if you can stay the extra day if you need to. You might recover better than i did who knows.

Not sure on the exact number of hours to fast but what ever the Dr told you to do you should.

Wear very loose clothing a dress would be best and so comfy (not too tight) underwear. If your going to be in there for a day or two take something to read some snacks an eye patch and ear plugs. Make sure before you leave home you have stocked up on ready made meals so all you have to do is heat them up as if you may not be up to cooking. Just make sure you house is prepared for your return so you can just rest.

Don't know anything about skin tags sorry.

Good luck i'm sure youe'll be fine is a pretty routine procedure.

As mentioned in your other post, I very much also agree with Perthites that your doctor should be giving all this information. Or at least his nurse.

However, he is probably a gynaecologist and so removing skin tags should not (hopefully) come under his domain. You would have to find a dermatologist to do those. However, you do not usually need a general anaesthetic to remove skin tags. This can be done in a clinic. It only takes an hour or so (need local anaesthetic). I have friends that have done it in HK and in BKK.

You can ask about skin tags on the medical board. But usually they put some local anasethetic gel on it to make it numb. They use laser to remove it. It take a few mins only. You wear special glasses to block out the laser light. You will have a scab for a few days that you need to put antibiotic cream on. Depending if you scar easily, you should not have any remaining marks.

All the best.

poseidon Laparoscopy is an internal exploritory surgery i am assuming you are asking about this and the skin tags as SEPERATE issues? As a laparoscpy is a rotuine surgery and it is quick in Australia it is done as a "Day Surgery" so i was only in hospital till i recovered from the gerneral anaesthic. PLease speak to your Dr about this.
