I will just try to help you out may be you need more reference
for sperm test unlike US or other western countries (where they have the provisions in the lab to collect the sperms) you have to collect the samples from home and try to deliver to the lab with in 1-1.5 hrs. You must have received the instruction paper from your Dr. along with bottle. If you wife's gyno is female and you can vist to male gyno ( Dr. Philp Ho,Dr. Doo etc)if this will make you more comfotable to discuss the things. Both the above Dr. are very known good & infertility specialist Drs

No worries. The sperm test is an essential and first test to do. It may give an immediate result as to potential problems, and at the least will narrow down the areas of concern. The test is easy to do, quick results, and good accuracy.

The only thing I'd add to the above, is that the sample should be kept at body temperature (in a pocket for example) and taken to the lab as soon as possible. The instructions we got didn't say this, but a web search did.

My husband did it too. It's not a big issue at all. It's best to go to the lab where the doc refers you and give the sample from there. The result are ready within a few hours.
