Totally Unexpected Twins

I just found out that I am going to be having (what looks like identical) twins. I am currently 6 weeks 4 days and have a 2 1/2 year old boy at home. I am about to turn 30 and have never used fertility treatments of any kind, so I am in a state of shock.


It looks like one of the babies has a strong heartbeat and the other a little weaker, not sure if it is just the way the ultrasound was placed or if it poses a real concern. Has anyone else experienced this or anything like it? I would love to hear some stories.


Also, this will be my first pregnancy in Hk and I will be going public (QMH). I had my scan done with a local Chinese doctor, thinking I just needed a referral and wasn't really given much information, also, I was so stunned, that i couldn't really ask any questions. Where do I go from here? Do I just wait until my apt with QMH that I had made before I found out it was twins or do I call them and tell them that there is more than one or do I need a specialist? My mind is reeling. Any feedback would be so much appreciated!
