I'm not sure what method at 9 months or after birth but I have been told by friends to start rubbing sweet almond oil as early as 4 months to prevent stretch marks which can be purchased in health food store. My sister didn't use anything and she has really bad stretch marks that won't go away. She's pretty fit now but her stretch marks are still there and the flabby stretched skin around the belly button area just won't go away. She dosen't wear bikinis...sorry don't wanna scare you. Each woman is different. I have heard some women don't even have this problem. after birth.

You might want to do a search on this forum.
Mine appeared AFTER I gave birth - more like 'shrink marks' and now I am pregnant second time and have more :(
But the good news is they did fade a lot faster than I expected and were less noticable.
Basically, there is not much you can do - but here are a few things:
Do moisturise
They do fade, but not completely go away
Apparently for SOME skin types lasers can reduce but not totally get rid of the appearance
Most importantly, do what I do:
Think of them as 'love marks' - the love for your children and husband :)

Once you have stretch marks they do not go away, but they do fade over time.

Hi
They say that the white skins (if you don't bare the sun for exemple) have more strech marks than the brunettes with a skin which can bare the sun... (sorry for my english. The best best way to avoid them is to do massage with almond oil from the 4th month for the brunettes and from the very beginning for the blondes with white skin. You can get fade them with laser as "Cri" said...
good luck

hehe... everyones different lol.
I used almond oil and tried vitamin E oil. I tried lotions and creams.... and i have huge i mean really huge stretch marks that cover my entire belly. from about 3 inches above my belly button all the way down. They faded slightly between pregnancies but never went away. I am white skinned with blonde hair blue eyes. I had pretty big babies too. If you only got a little ur lucky. Mine are about the width of a thumb and as long as a noodle. Haha not to scare you tho. Just some ppl get em this bad some dont.
Good luck!
