Hi, am in my mid 30's and would like to have my own family. I am considering adoption too and have read a lot about it but would like to get more informations on giving birth to my own child. Could someone help and let me know which country are willing to do IUI or IVF regardeless of the marital status (without any discrimination basically, only question I want to be asked is: are you sure you want a child?), and how to order from a sperm bank (I thought only hospital could order from there?). If someone has already been through the whole process I would be extremly happy to hear about every details. Also do I need the approval from any authority (Country where I have my citizenship? HK?) Thank you very much, M&N

You can try IUI and IVF in Australia, even as a single woman. They have sperm donors of all races!

Thanks Selda. Do you have more details on the process (name of a clinic in Australia? lengh of the process?do they have their own sperm donor bank?). Also do you know if I need approval from HK or my country in Europe for this process?. cheers

why not the slightly less obvious route? (but perhaps more hassle free) post here or elsewhere looking for a donor.
don't ask his name or details. get proof of a blood test etc for STDs and a picture, set up a meeting...
and yes, i know there are risks etc, weigh them against other options.
someone i know did this just recently.

Hello matmaHK,
You could also try the Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok (Australia is a bit far...). I am single (39 years old) and right in the process of having my first IUI there. The process is very straightforward. You need to be authorized by the Hospital's Ethics Committee though. Non real hassle there. At the time of your first visit, you are assessed by a psychiatrist, then you meet a gynecologist/obstetrician/fertility specialist who will discuss the various options with you. You will also go through your first battery of tests (blood test, etc.). The psychiatrist then submit your case to the Committee. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to hear from them. My case was approved a month ago!! The Burumgrad does not have any sperm bank so you need to order online from a sperm bank (I am ordering from Cryo). I can give you more details if you like. Happy to steer you in the right direction.
