Hi! Am a mom to be (25 weeks preg) and was wondering what your views are on the above method? Pros n cons? what seems to come up a lot when i google it is the "Make way for baby" DVD. Has anyone tried this? Or can recommend any other one?
Thanks!

There is a REALLY wide range of response to this.
This is only my humble opinion.
I'm of the school "less is more." There is a great book called, "Einstein never Used Flashcards" which is excellently researched and documented. The two researchers go through commonly misconceived and abused notions of what makes a smarter and baby. (for example debunking the Mozart effect.) A lot of it, according to their research, are manufacturers and companies trying to exploit parents, who in all their desire to provide the best possible outcome for their babies, are willing to try anything.
There is significant evidence that OVER stimulation as fetuses and newborns could be potential cause of other problems (possible connections to ADD and ADHD).
Sound research supports singing to your baby (your voice), reading to your baby, having your husband talk to your baby. Your overall well-being, spirit, and energy will do more for your baby than anything else. If you are relaxed, fit and energetic - that will make all the difference. DO some yoga, rest, breathe, exercise, talk to your baby and enjoy your close relationship while he or she is inside. The rest is really up to nature.

i have to say, i was confused when i read the subject title, thought it was a query on how to induce labour, haha!
anyway, i echo hkcc's opinion that less is more. but what is nice is that the parents to be talk/sing to the baby, subject topic doesn't matter. my hubby sang the same song to our #1 every night before bedtime and would say stupid things like poor him, suffering in mummy's tummy with all the nasty smells (erm...was slightly windy, hahahahah). it's just a bonding thing, i never bought a single DVD or bought headphones for baby, hahah.

Never bought a DVD either but used to play a lot of music! I even took salsa lessons while I was pregnant (til I got too big to move!) and guess what! My daughter now loves salsa, mambo and all latin music! My husband also used to talk to the belly and everytime he did, the baby used to kick a lot :)
Have fun!
