I currently live in Dalian. I am looking for a very good obs/gyn who speaks english and also somewhere I could do an Amniocentesis test. Anywhere in Asia!! I am also looking for an english speaking paediatrician or General practioner for my family

I think there are some good hospitals in Beijing and Shanghai.

Otherwise you have to book a flight and come to HK.

I just had an amniocentesis done at the HKPDC

43 yrs and pregnant. Had a miscarriage about a year ago. Had a hard time finding an obs in Dalian who could understand what I was going through.

Oh you poor thing. I am based in Shenzhen and have a very good idea of the general attitude Ob/Gyns on the mainland have towards pregnancy and everything. They are very unsympathetic and almost scary. I guess i'm lucky though as i can cross the border to go for my check ups.


I'd say HK is still your best bet, as there's a good choice of well trained, english speaking doctors - both western and chinese available.
