Hi, 10 days ago my Dr advised that the embryo was not developing but it was small enought for me to pass natually - no D&C. Anybody an idea of how long this usually takes?

Oh Rose, I'm so sorry....some consolation to have gotten pregnant I guess, but still, so sad.

I started to miscarry at 11 weeks and the scan showed the embryo had stopped developing at ~8 weeks, so in my case it took 3 weeks to begin to miscarry naturally. That's long though, I think.

Do you still have embryos left? You've been through so much these last several months...my best wishes for you to have a healthy pregnancy very soon.

Thanks, My thoughts, I have found it really difficult and depressing this time. I have no more embryos left so I guess I have to get fit and start over. I still seem to have a good egg reserve but after two m/c I suppose the quiality given my age must be the big issue. I wish there was some definative test for quality, I guess i will just have to pray that I get lucky with a good egg next time.

Rose,

The best of luck with your next pregnancy.

I had my blighted ovum removed just over 2 months ago. It was a very stressful and depressing time. Happy to say - both my husband and I have grown closer together and are trying again. Have faith and relax!

Take care of yourself and just remember that soon it will all be worth it.

rose1234,

Sorry to hear about your loss. As far as timing goes, there is no hard and fast rule. Of my 4 m/cs, I let 2 happen naturally, in one case I started bleeding within a week of bring diagnosed with blighted ovum and on the other occassion it took 3 weeks. It was easier when it happened quickly.

Best of luck with future pregnancies. It becomes difficult to believe that things will ever work out, but just try again when you're ready. Telling you to relax is pointless, I know because I never believed that I was 'home and dry' until my children were in my arms. Take care.
