my wife had her first ivf in july, then september. both failed. we are now thinking of another ivf which will start at the end of this month.

she response well to the drugs although the egg quality is so so.

has anyone had ivfs at such a high frequency within a short amount of time? and is this recommended? i heard these are very strong drugs and might have implications.

although physically and emotionally three ivf's within one year is tough to handle - four months between arts is apparently a reasonable time for your body to recoup.

while personally i did not follow this protocol, i know many women that have done three/four ivf's a year. your physician wants the best for you and your wife, and would have recommended more time off if he/she thought it necessary. when you go in for base bloodworks, they'll be able to tell how her hormone levels are and if they are too low or high and might harm the cycle.

also, if she has had breakthrough bleeding, spotting, scanty or overly heavy bleeding these past two cycles, (especially this most recent one) it could indicate that physically, her body is not ready for another ivf.

the drugs are strong, and depending on response you may be on higher levels. but from what i understand, there is no difference in the harm to your body if you do three cycles in one year and three cycles over three years.

good luck to you and your wife, i hope third time is the charm.
