Medicals before we can adopt

Can someone please tell me what the medical criteria is before we can adopt? Is it a general medical or is it pretty tough? Not that we have any problems but I was just interested as what to expect.

Basic health - blood pressure, blood tests, etc

Hi Bluedog,


As jassy67 replied, that is pretty much the most of it. They also ask for some family history such as mental illness and diabetes and such. Smoking? alcohol in access? and if you have had surgery you must provide the medical report. Other than that it is pretty basic. Ours was not covered by our medical health issurance and with the chest xray cost about $3000 (husband and I together).
