I wouldn't worry too much. If you ask around you'll find that very few pregnancies, especially first ones, are without their little dramas. We've had bleeding, pre-eclampsia, heart arrhythmia (thank you Firefox spell check), early birth... The end result was still two healthy girls.


Getting the extra scan(s) is a good thing.


And stop reading on the Internet. It really is bad for you. ;)

I'm 33 -weeks pregnant and the head of my baby is at stage 35 weeks- so 2 weeks ahead- my doc said it's the normal range.....dont' worry too much and stop reading too much as well....it just makes you nervous and insecure.

Amnio is an option that can give you a definite answer. Bear in mind that it does carry a small risk of miscarriage. The rate of miscarriages varies. Most hospitals are between 1:100 and 1:400 historically.


We had an amnio with the first pregnancy and a CVS (chrionic villi sampling, which has a slightly higher risk) on the second one. However I think if you are over 30, with the increased down's syndrome risk that entails, an amnio is a good idea
