Strollers cheaper in the States?

My husband will be in New York for work before the baby is born, and I was wondering if anyone knows whether strollers are cheaper over there compared to HK?


I thought it might be worth getting him to pick one up from there... Of course, we will do all the research from here beforehand..

As far as I know, things like strollers are indeed cheaper in the US if you buy in the right places. Ordering online is the way to go. Amazon.com and Babystyle.com are two good places to start for strollers.


Look at the prices online in the US and compare with here before you take the plunge. Also check worldwide warranties. Strollers do break occasionally.

Most stuff is actually cheaper in the US, ironically even if it is made in China. The exceptions are things heavy in custom manual labor, like bespoke clothing. Contrary to what most people think, electronics are significantly cheaper in the US.


As I mentioned earlier, online is the way to go in the US. Cheaper and better selection. They deliver to hotels no problem.


We bought all three strollers that way. Heck in the US I bought everything online since it was cheaper. From a quick glance at my amazon.com history: diapers, wipes, car seats, some baby clothes, Radio Flyer cart, kitchen appliance, endless computer parts, toys, picture albums, picture development services, books, DVDs, tea press, radiators, breast pads, Baby Björn, baby rocker, breast pumps, stairmaster, baby bottles, digital camera, humidifier, potty, step stool, cell phone holster, computer games, garden watering timer, etc etc etc.

wow, great idea. i will not only order a stroller online, but i'll also get some of the other baby stuff. This would mean my husband lugging quite a bit of stuff back to HK, but I'm sure he won't mind. good thing he's a marco polo; more baggage allowance...
