Around 3 months and I have seen my OB twice and have just worked out that they are charging about 20-30% more than everyone else seems to be. I just didnt focus on this before as I didnt have the energy to do so with the morning sickness and so we just went with the OB in GP office as we are new to HK.
But I am now wondering about switching. Has anyone switched OBs during pregnancy? Do they happily transfer all your records to a new OB? What happens about your hospital booking - does this get switched too or do you lose it and have to make a new one?

Switching should never be a problem. Records should (must!) be transferred. As for the booking - I would check with the new obstetrician (and I can recommend Alex Doo with a good conscience, but you may have already made your choice) to see if s/he has facilities at your booked hospital, and that should be simply transferred.

I told the secretary that i was giving birth in my home country ( europe)instead of HK, so i needed my file, wich was no problem at all, i could pick-up my file the same day without any strange looks or questions.

Hi, I don't see any reason why you cannot change your OB and get your own record.
I was seen by Dr Joe Chan during my recent pregnancy and delivery. My girl is now about 5 months old. I found Dr Chan very caring , patience and professional. He actually arrived to the hospital waiting for us before I reached there on the day of delivery. His skills are very good. I barely felt any pain over my episiotomy wound, far better than my expectation.
I highly recommend him and I think you may try to see whether you like him. He also has very good comments from others in this website. His no. is 25233328.
