Depends are you going private or public.
I was booked into Princess Margaret public (about 3 stops on MTR train from Tung chung) but I would not advise this hospital to anyone. It is not very expat friendly.
I am now booked into Queen Mary public and feel much more happier. You can do all your check ups in Tung Chung at the maternity clinic on Thursday morning.
Please PM me when you get here I will give you a call with that information if you require it.

Hi Robyn,
I'm just interested in how you got tranferred to Queen Mary. A lot of my friends recommend this hospital. When I called Tsan Yuk to make an appointment there, they asked where I live and since I live in Tseung Kwan-O, the lady said I should go to the clinic near my area. I prefer to deliver in Queen Mary's and would want to booked there. Could you tell me how you went about getting the tranfer there? thanks a lot.

Hi,
I was 28 weeks when I transfered from Princess Margaret to Queen Mary. I have attended the local clinic here in Tung Chung since 8 weeks. I told the Doctor at the clinic I wanted to be transfered and they wrote a referal.
When I called Tsan Yuk to make an appointment I got a big Si and I told her that I had a referral letter and she was not to refuss me.
Id recomend you getting a referral from the closet clinic or your baby doctor.
The advantage of going to your closest clinic is the check ups are easy take 40 min at an out clinic and close to home. Once you get to the 2 weekly check ups its a god send.
You only have to go to Tsan Yuk at 28-30 weeks and again at 36 weeks.
I am a kiwi gal and have been treated really well at the out clinic. It has been very convienient.
Good Luck

Hi,
My wife just had her initial check up at Tsan Yuk Hospital. We live here in Tung Chung and Tsan Yuk initially said that we should have our checkup in Tung Chung clinic and will have our birth at Princess Margarette. But we insisted that we wanted it to be in Tsan Yuk since my wife works in Central and the checkups usually are in the weekdays. They agreed with not much fuss.
We are presently choosing however, where to give birth, in Queen Mary or Princess MArgaret. As per our local friends, Queen Mary is the best public hospital in HK in terms of giving birth. We also have numerouse friends who have given birth in Princess Margarette and they have all good experiences so far.
