I recently gave birth and she's 1 month and 5 days old today. My obgyn told me to wait for my period before I take my contraceptive pills to prevent from getting pregnant so soon. I thought I had my period last saturday so I took the pills, then the next day I dont have any menstruation at all, its a brown discharge only. So today I decided, stop taking the pills coz Im scared its not my period yet. Is there anyone with the same case? I'm worried about it...kindly advise. thanks!

quick note: if you are breast feeding be careful what pill you take it can affect the milk.
I started taking the mini pill straight away did not wait until my first period.

With my 1st i used the mini pill after the 6 week check up after the baby was born. I found out i was alergic to any kind of hormonal pill. I would bleed and bleed after i started taking the pill. My 2nd child i nursed her til she was a bit over 1 yrs old then i weaned her off. when she was completely done i think it took about 2 months then i had my period. We didnt use any kind of contraception. Luckily we didnt get pregnant again til we tried. However, you should wait til after the 6 week check up and get on the mini pill if thats waht your wanting to do. Otherwise use condoms til you can get on the pill.
