Hi All, Can anyone give me some good tips for where to get maternity clothes in HK? Is there anywhere with a good range? I'm a UK size 12-14. Any tips appreciated! Thanks.

there are quite a few older posts on this. you might want to search for 'clothes' to see some of them.

In the meantime here are some online options, and there is always the asiaxpat classifieds :)

You might want to look at these two shops you can order online from Singapore:

http://www.mothersenvogue.com/

http://www.momsinmind.com.sg/ (they have links on their site to other good maternity shopping sites!)

Or Online from Taiwan/HK:

http://www.bunintheoven.com.hk/

(they have some nice items on sale right now!)

For Bras, international orders are easy at:

http://www.figleaves.com

For a very comfortable bra:

http://www.hk-bfmoms.com/

(Essential Bra and Leisure Bra - inexpesive and perfect for nursing)

The site is in Chinese, but has lots of English and you can call them.

On another thread someone else posted these three UK sites:

http://www.isabellaoliver.com

http://www.hommemummy.co.uk

http://www.cravematernity.co.uk

Thanks crj. I will look at these. I must admit though I was hoping for something in HK where I can actually see and try on the clothes before buying...I have not had alot of success with online shopping in the past. Anyway, I will search the forums as you suggested. Thanks again.

You'll find lots on the other posts.

BTW - one of the great things about maternity clothes is that they are actually EASIER to fit as you are growing so you don't want a perfectly tailored outfit. Now that I need to shop for 'normal' clothes again I miss the ease of 'Medium please' :)

Enjoy.

I purchased a couple of basics from bun in the oven (they are HK based now) and must say I'm very pleased. I'm a UK size 12-14 too. I placed the order in the afternoon and received my clothes the very next afternoon !! They have a return policy too so exchanging won't be a problem I guess. Though I didn't have to return.

Claireaust - I am a UK12-14 too and I bought all my maternity clothes at Bumps to Babe (Central Pedder Buidling) and Motherworld (a local maternity clothing shop in Causeway Bay across from Lee Theater on the street where the tram runs on). You can also get a few pieces from M&S too.

Several shops in Chatham Rd South (TST East) up near the corner of Austin Road; Bumps to Babes in Pedder Building (Central); several shops around Times Square (Causeway Bay); also ground floor of Ocean Terminal (TST) including (don't laugh) Toys R Us. Having said that, we got most of ours when we were travelling overseas as the dresses we saw here were simply not a good personal fit (as in gaping underarms etc).

Yes Claireaust I think bun in the oven are only available online. I don't know about the central address, I thought it was only sai kung.

I bought some summer dress made with stretchy cotton at Max & CO two weeks ago and they are excellent. I normally wear small but I bought medium and large. They are not only comfortable on my huge belly at 36week but also will be good for nursing dress after giving birth. They are not maternity clothes but I feel the most comfortable in them even compared to my proper maternity clothes.

There's this store in Fa Yuen Market (it's like on the left side.. 4-5 shops in. Quite reasonable, decent collection).

Pick up a copy of the latest "List" Magazine, they have an extensive list of maternity shops (online & offline)

You can also check out Annerley's in Lan Kwai Fong, they've got great Noppies maternity clothes from Holland (I think). Basic clothes but very classic and comfortable. Their website is www.annerley.com.hk where you can find the exact address. You can try on the clothes there. Hope this helps!

I'm an Aussie expat here so I got a few pieces when I went back home for a visit. I also discovered http://www.maternitysale.com.au when I was searching on the web. All their items were very affordable and I got so many compliments on some of the dresses I bought from there. Have fun maternity shopping!

Ok late to tag into this discussion....but I'm pregnant and have a huge problem......actually two huge problems....my boobs have jumped from 34 B to 34E and I can't find bras anywhere.....any suggestions? I'm wary to try online as if they don't fit properly it's a huge waste of money....desperate to keep the girls tied up in something that will minimise the bounce!! Sounds mad but happened with my last two pregnancies also and I ended up wearing granny looking ugly things the whole time with no support. Help?

Mumof2boys - you need www.bralicious.com. Worth doing a fitting too. All sizes, maternity, gorgeous stuff. Best of luck with number 3.

Mothercourt in Melbourne Plaza, Central has a good collection in all sizes, including up to size 16.

For large cup size bras, Bumps to Babes in Pedder Building has these.

Bough maternity swimsuit from Ozzy Cozzy, in same building as Annerley (on 5/F) also does big sizes. Bought a few summer empire line dresses here too.

H&M.

Apart from underwares, i try not to buy so many maternity clothes. I will look for clothes in loose style or wear leggings so I can still wear them after delivery.
