UK Car Hire - Excess Insurance

I will be driving a hire car in the UK soon and looking for an insurance co. to cover any excess that may occur in an accident. My usual provider has changed its rules and now states that I must be a UK resident to apply. Looking for an alternative. Any recommendations ? All of them seem to now insist that you have to be a permanent UK domicile. Thanks in advance.
