For the second time in 24 hours, concession stands ran out of food and drinks, customers waited 45 minutes or more to be served, and there were stories of chaos and confusion among staff members.
The story of the day though centred on events off the pitch, with one fan who had been attending the Sevens for years saying he was “never coming back”.
“The food and drink situation has been ridiculous, it’s the easiest thing to get right,” said the fan, who would only identify himself as Mike.
Another fan, who had been waiting 30 minutes for a coffee, said he would “just settle for it being hot” after having already paid for it.
