English Seminars at HK Book Fair 2014!

Participating writers include British authors Susan Barker, award-winning travel author Lawrence Osborne and illustrator/writer/musician/theatrical performer Peter Suart, French authors François Drémeaux, David Foenkinos (author of “Delicacy”), Olivier Lebé (author of award-winning “Repulse Bay” novel) and American jouranalist Barbara Demick, and beyond.


Hong Kong-based writers are also not to be missed, such as Frank Dikotter, HKU’s chair professor of humanities and renowned historian of the modern Chinese history, Kelly Yang, author of bestselling children’s book Where’s Broccoli?, Richard Tong, author of hybrid novel Bitch On Heat illustrated by steampunk artist James Ng and Mark O’Neill, who has written about Chinese labour force and their influence in World War One.


The Consulate General of Peru in Hong Kong and Macao has invited Ms Mercedes Vázquez from HKU to introduce the novels and film adaptations of Nobel Prize laureate, Mario Vargas Llosa, while Frank Ling, successful entrepreneur in Canada will also share his inspiring stories from his memoir Pray Standing.
