Hi everybody,

would be nice to get some advice.

I am considering starting a flat share, but is it possible to rent a flat less then 1 year? Do property agents also arrange contracts like these?

I am looking forward to any advices!

Hi,

I have a budget of 4000 HKD for an adequate room with at least bed, desk and cupboard. I would like to stay on HK Island. Preferable in Sheungwan, Sai Ying Pun.

Are you moving out of your current flat or are you searching for a nice flat mate? :)

Only a really desperate landlord would rent for less than 6 months - unless the rent was about 3 times the normal monthly rent - and there aren't many desperate landlords at the moment. It just makes no sense economically, given the potential wear and tear, and no property agent would be interested. Also, flat shares are a problem for the landlord. The only real option is a serviced apartment - which are also expensive (because of the wear and tear). You could try the cheapy love hotels in Causeway Bay.
