Need a contractor

I have just bought a small flat and I want to renovate it. Can anyone recommend a good contractor?

I have a guy doing work for me currently and he has been highly recommended by several expats here and his quotes are competitive and his work excellent. His name is Mr Woo and - you can email him goodtiming@netvigator.com . They are located in Wanchai and you can go and see his work. Say LouLu introduced you as he only usually takes referrals now as is so busy!

I would be careful of some HK contractors. As there are some very unprofessional ones. There are a lot to choose from at very reasonable prices. Shop around for a few quotes. Regardless of whether they come with recommendions it will not help you if the job starts having problems. Please make sure everything is in your contract e.g. protection, insurance and clean up costs. I understand that some contractors have a way of increasing your initial budget by more then 30%- 40% and running up to 80% over time. Just make sure you have all the penalties in the contract.
