debra m p: Happy Valley is a quaint little village neighborhood at the heart of HK Island. It's got a rich colonial HK feel to it. Most of the locals, especially the old-timers are born and bred in HK and of course there's a wonderful mix of expats in the area too. And, HV is known to be the food mecca of HK - lots of variety of food. Of course the standard of living at HV is a little higher than average at HK. If you work at Central, the tram, the oldest and cheapest form of transport in HK - $2.00 HKD, takes you there in about 20-25 minutes, very convenient. I could go on and on about this place as I'm a happy resident here. If you move here, love to welcome you! Good luck!

I lived in Sai Kung for 6 years - didn't think I could live anywhere else...till I moved to Happy Valley. Everything is convenient, people are friendly, great mixture of locals and expats. Only problem is on racing nights at the HV racecourse, traffic to get into HV is a problem. Plus lots of traffic on weekends. Other than those, it's great! Hope to see you in the neighborhood!
