Where to Live?

ORIGINAL POST

Hi,

I'm a 25 year old male and am possibly moving to Hong Kong for a year. I don't speak cantonese and only a little manderin. If I do in fact decide to move, my job will be located in Central. Wondering where the best place to live would be (i.e. closest to work, fun, lively area)?

Thanks,

TL

happy valley is a big expat area with a few good local pubs - and also close enough to central / wanchai for bigger nights out!!! happy valley has a nice relaxed feel to it and there is a running track / footie / hockey pitches inside the racetrack. it would be my first choice!!

Western Mid-Levels is one of the most popular expat areas although it's a little crowd. You can even walk to Central or the fun & lively area of Lan Kwai Fong within 10-15 mins.

hey your profile sounds like me. I have been staying in Manhattan heights, Kennedy town since 1 year ago when i moved here. Nice place with english speaking 24 hrsecurity guards, free shuttlebus service to exchange square everyday so i get to work in central conveniently. I can get to Lankwaifong and Soho easily too. In fact, i am moving out of my apartment by end of April. I can pass this apartment to you without you paying for agency fee. It's a 2 bedroom apartment with mountain view, on very highfloor. Monthly rental is going at a reasonable rent of 12K nett. If you are keen, let me know.

Hi,Have you found your place yet? I have an apartment/studio in Happy Valley that might suit you. I have pictures that I can email you if you send me your email address to rentfriendly@yahoo.com. I'm renting my studio out because I'm working in Shanghai most of the time this year. The studio has a queen size bed, sofa, broadband internet, cable TV, air conditionning and also comes with full kitchen and shower. It's not a serviced apartment as it is my studio, but I have a weekend maid that comes in to tidy up things. The apartment is conveniently located near supermarkets and local restaurants and starbucks is just right below the studio. Let me know if this suits you.
