I am sick (literally) of breathing the air in Midlevels Central.
Are there any areas in HK that have clean air?

Statistically, I believe southeast Lantau (near Tong Fuk village) is the best/least bad - except Po Toi island, which is scarcely inhabited. (The north of Lantau is affected by the airport/Disney fireworks.) There are laid-back expat communities in several of the villages in SE Lantau. But if you need convenient transport to Central/Kowloon, then Lamma Island or the southeast of HK Island (Stanley, Shek O) is about as good as it gets. If you want to study the pollution statistics, the HK Observatory could probably help.
If it's any consolation,Dec-Feb is the worst period each year and it gets better from now until May-June, which are the two least polluted months.

If you read the pollution statistics on the HKO webpage it is pretty hard to escape, but you can get away from roadside pollution by getting away from congested roads. We used to live exclusively in the Wanchai or Causeway Bay districts but also got tired of the Air and Noise pollution. I rented in Park Island for one year and was happy enough to buy a flat here. It is an excellent community with a very green attitude: high restriction on vehicle access, 20 minute ferry to Central, 12 minute bus to Tsing Yi, excellent world class facilities.
