Where to live in Sai Kung / CWB?

Hi, we are thinking of moving from Central to Sai Kung / Clear Water Bay. I got a little girl here in HK and like to give her some more space / nature. We are looking for a villa / village house, but in an (child friendly) expat area, with possibly club/facilities in the neighbourhood. Not necessarily very big estate, but very green / big garden. Anybody knows something nice?

Sounds like a lot to ask, doesn't it ;->

Hi Annew

That really depends on how much you are willing to spend. Try Floral Villa or The Portofino. Or you can also find some goods one along CWB

We live in CWB. Good choice, but as Tanker says it will depend on your budget.

So where in CWB do you live? Is it a nice mix of expats & locals. Many kids? Nice green? etc.

We live on Wing Lung Road, CWB. Lots of kids and pets. Close to a couple of good schools. Good mix of people, and more expats arriving from the south side of HK every week!

Oh ya, the rental for the southside is climbing higher each and other day. Its wiser to move out of southside.

The problems that arise from this sort of migration is that those coming from the Southside or Midlevels to the other side bring with them their outrageous rental budgets as well - which means that they accept the high prices the landlords ask without question as the rent is much cheaper than they would pay where they came from...however...for the rest of us who really don't have too much of a choice as to where to live due to budget retraints..it causes problems as the rents are raised to keep up with demand and families are forced to move elsewhere .... if you do come from the southside - please do negotiate your rent down as much as you can - just because it is cheaper doesn't mean you need to pay as much as they are asking!

Annew, look really carefully when you are renting or buying a house in CWB or Sai Kung. Some places with a lots of dog barking at nite can be very annoying. Also the crime rate seems to raise a bit recently. I aint mean it isnt good. I live there for 28 years. I love it there but only if you drive.
