Tin Hau is a great place to live. Local but not so local that you can't get an English menu. It's convenient for the MTR, tram stops, airport buses and regular buses. There's a post office near the MTR and the library is a few minutes away. There's always something going on in Victoria Park and they have a nice jogging path, pool, tennis courts, squash courts. It feels like a real neighborhood and people get to know you. Shanghai Lane on Lau Li street has the best wonton dumplings and Another One noodle shop has awesome shao long bao. There's Thai, Indian, dessert places and western cafes but much less crowded than Causeway Bay. That's all the good stuff.
The bad stuff is that it can sometimes be noisy with concerts or marches in the park and if you live near the fire station. that's my biggest complaint. I lived there for 3.5 years but then moved to Causeway Bay for a flat twice as large.
