Man and Beast

I will be moving from the UK to HK with my dog later this year. Does anybody have any suggestions on where would be best to live?


I have been considering Lantau and Lamma Island for her benefit but feel I would be quite isolated there. As a newbie to HK (and a single) I will need to socialise to make new friends so I am looking for a compromise. I would say my dog is medium sized but very docile, she sleeps all day and never barks so could be appropriate for apartment living as long as there is a park very nearby for the daily poop! I heard local people are quite scared of larger dogs and wont get in an elevator with one - is that true?


I'll be working in Central and my budget is around HK$20,000 (though I'm flexible). I'd consider a flat share if that's feasible with a dog?!?!


Ideally I am interested in hearing from other dog owners who live on HK Island in apartments within my range though any comments will be greatly appreciated. Plus if anyone knows of a good website for searching HK property apart from hongkonghomes.com I'd be most grateful.
