Come on - Shiu Fai Terrace is not that bad. Good point is it's handy to Central/Wan Chai/Happy Valley and on bus route to Stanley & the Peak. Also it's quiet and if you enjoy running/walking (despite the pollution) there are Bowen Road and Happy Valley tracks nearby. If you're into sports, HKFC & HK Cricket Club are both nearby, as well as Valley RFC. I admit taxis are not always convenient esp in morning and traffic can be congested down Stubbs Road in weekends but buses run along Queens Rd East (5-10 min walk away) which go to Central or even Kowloon. Buildings are older type and low-rise but we prefer this to 50+ floor tower blocks in other areas. Happy Valley is cool but it can also get congested in weekends at top and bottom ends. Suggest you get agent to take you round and make up your own mind. Shops are a bit of a walk to Hopewell Centre/Causeway Bay etc but like most of HK, it's a matter of finding the minibus network. Wan Chai MTR takes about 15mins to walk or $15 taxi, or catch 24M or 24A minibus which goes through Wan Chai to Admiralty MTR for about $5. Buses to Central about $3.40-$6 depending on whether you catch along Stubbs Rd or Queens Rd East. Or if you have a car then should be no problem. Also if you have kids, it's in-zone for Bradbury ESF International school which also has school bus stop at Shiu Fai. Have fun exploring.

By the way, do the other 2 posters live in Shiu Fai as they don't seem to know how to spell the address...or maybe we're talking about different places.

Thanks for your feedback. We have since found an awesome apartment in mid levels and decided to take it!
