Wanchai area or nearby areas such as Causeway Bay, Admiralty are quite conjested with commercial bldgs & residential bldgs, walking the dogs might not be so enjoyable.

The closest may be Kennedy Road, Tai Hang, Stubbs Road or further down in Mid-levels where there is more space to walk the dogs with less cars & people.

Depending on your housing budget also.

Good Luck !

I'm also relocating to HK in Dec with 2 dogs, and we'll also be near the Wan Chai district. A friend in HK told me that Happy Valley was a dog-friendly area. I don't know what buildings in the area accept dogs, but we'll be starting our search in January. If you find anything, please let me know, and I'll do likewise :)

I'd stay away from Bowen Road as the dog-poisoner is back.

Thanks Guardian Angel. Don't intend to stay in the conjested area... Was looking at kennedy Rd & Tai Hang area. Is it easy to get to Wan Chai for work? Especially on rainy days??

Will stay away from Bowen Road. It seems quite common... scary.

Submariner, where are you relocating from? I'm going from S'pore and have done some research especially on how to import your dogs yourself. It cost quite a bomb to get pet movers. Let me know if you any import info.

We're relocating from Los Angeles, but luckily for us, our company is taking care of the expenses including the pet relocation. We were also considering Ap Lei Chau since its only about 20 minutes by bus to Causeway Bay and we heard it was dog-friendly, but we just learned that South Horizons doesnt accept pets. Not sure if any of the other complexes do.

There are actually a lot of dogs and dog owners right in Causeway Bay. I used to live there with my lab and we had no problem. A lot of old buildings (6-8 story) with big flats by the sea in the 20K range.

Happy Valley is pretty nice too...but less convenient.

I finally moved out of town (Park Island) and I can tell you the dog has a better life and my transport cost (live in the city and you will be oft tempted to taxi) and times are not significantly different.

Pokfulam looks nice but is it easy to move around or get taxi in Pokfulam? Anyone knows how long does one take to get to Wan Chai during morning peak hours? Also, how's the place like for singles?

I live in Bel-Air and I work in Causeway Bay. During peak hours, I take the 69x bus to Causeway Bay and that gets met there in about 15-20 minutes. They you can probably take the causeway bay subway station to wan chai subway stop (only 1 stop). Bel-Air is more for young families with dogs, etc...not a happening place for singles.

Meawre,

Can you provide more info on your bus route? I could not find a route that connects Bel-Air to Causeway Bay on the Citybus website.

Also, are you certain that it only takes 15-20 minutes? The bus routes indicate that Ap Lei Chau to Causeway Bay only takes 20 minutes, and it's pretty much a straight shot. Bel-Air to CWB seems like a less direct route.

Thanks!
