Hi, everyone. I am planning to move to Hong Kong next month for my first job in HK and looking for a pet friendly place to settle down. Here are my top priorities:
1. convenient transporation to get to work at Hunghom, Kowloon; around 30 mins commute is fine
2. pet friendly building; nearby park to walk my dog would be ideal
3. proximity to gym, restaurants, etc.
4. 10-15k per month budget

You could try south east Lantau Island. I've noticed a few people walking dogs around mui wo and the towns on that side of lantau (cheung sha...). Ferry from mui wo is about 30-40 mins to central. I think rent would be cheap and there are a few restaurants around, not sure about gym. Hope this helps.

Ocean Shores at Tiu Keng Leng allows dogs and there are many places to take them. There are 2 and 3 bedroom apartments - starting at around 11k per month. Amazing facilities. The best I have seen in HK. Great staff, supermarket, 4 tennis courts, bowling, gym, swimming pools, billiards, squash, lots of kids. 2 stops on MTR to Island.

Hung Hom takes 30 -40 mins max from Tiu Keng Leng or Hang Hau and you get a seat on MTR! It is so ridiculous that expats go and pay silly high prices on HK Island like Happy Valley or Kowloon with more pollution, more conjestion and downright poor facilities. You can also get taxi which will take around 20 mins. Beware of real estate agents pushing their preferred areas on these sites! PM me for more information.

Did you find somewhere dog friendly? I live out Clearwater Bay area, which is about 10 minutes mini bus ride to Tsueng Kwan O MTR. I have 3 dogs, who spend lots of times in & around the village & country park trails with lots of bush to run around in.

Though on HK South, it takes only 30-40 min on direct bus (171) to Hung Hom.
