Hi,
We're rather interested in leasing a property in Lamma Island.
Can anyone suggest the best way to actually find properties there...we're looking at around 20,000 (money that is...not sq ft)
I've lived on an island before and understand what it entails, fortunately we only need to be in the city once a week.
Two other questions as well... is broadband easily available?
Does anyone have an opinion on the social aspect, as we are a couple of 30 something guys and do like to indulge in the occassional merrymaking?
Thank you very much

Good advice from Daddy Long Legs, however you CAN rent a whole house on lamma but they are hard to come by. Many people would rent two flats either ground and middle floor or middle and top floor. All Lamma ptys are no more than 3 stories high, no high rise. Lamma has got a good social scene but remember it is a small island and the numer of venues are small. Some "pubs" have live music and there are often beach parties etc. You should try Lamma this week for the "Dickstock" live music festival, that would give you a good idea of the Lamma scene. www.lamma.com.hk will have details

Thanks Daddy Long Legs and Greenman,
I concur that going over and talking to the real estate agents is by far the best way to do it.
For any others interested in Lamma island, larger apartments tend to be a standard 700-750 sq ft.
We're now looking at renting a middle floor and top floor with a roof...if anyone knows a place available. (even all 3 floors if we're really lucky)
For others expect to pay HK5000+ for a middle floor and HK7000+ for a top floor including rooftop... a complete bargain if you ask me.
Cheers again guys....appreciated... looking forward to setting up there.
