Mrs Lau of Centaline 9342 7663, she speaks v good english. Really listens to what you want. Patient and never pushy. Whatsmore, seems to have lot of goodies up her sleeves. I worked with many estate agents, so far she is the best. Though I think she only covers Midlevel West,Pokfulam and Bel Air.

Katherine 35719122, she is good and she deal with expats for all areas. I have been dealing with agents from many companies and she will never waste my time and bring me to places that within my requirement.

I also used Narelle at Peninsula Properties. She is a real specialist on island south properties. Her colleague Pam is good to!

Mandy Bosman in Stanley, she was a relocation specialist and a fantastic agent. Efficient, and really listens to your needs, doesnt waste your time, doesn't push. Nice lady from Boston. Her number is 9018-2812. Me and my husband walked in quite a few agents in different towns when we first arrived, trying to look around and see our options. Glad we found Mandy, she does the whole HK island, saved us a lot of headaches.

Any recommendations for a good agent for the Mid Levels area? Preferably someone who understands requirements and doesn't shoot in the dark like a lot of the ones I've met so far. Thank you.

"I wouldn't get too hung up on finding 1+ 'good' estate agent. Better to know approximately what you are looking for and your budget"
Right.
Get yer "boots on the ground, and look around."
Don't expect the agent to do all the work. Respect them, and use them wisely, and then you can also negotiate a fair deal, where you do not pay too much.

Hi everyone,
I wanted to see if I can get any recommendations for a reliable agent to help me find a place either in Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, or Sheung Wan. I'm coming from the US as a trailblazer for my company, so any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

To be honest, property is commoditised in HK it doesn't really matter which agency/agent you use. Just go to Midland, Ricacorp, Centaline or HK Property for the main agencies. Century 21 may be a bit more slanted towards expats. Don't expect any kind of service. The agent will try his best to help but don't expect any special attention to your individiual needs.

Thanks Loyd. Any advice on how I pick one? Do people usually use multiple agents at a time? Also, how far ahead of my move in day should I search? I'm planning on flying in a month before to find a place.

Find one that speaks English (if you don't speak Cantonese).
You don't need any special agents. Talk to 2-3, until you find one you click with

It's better to find one that is fluent in both Cantonese and English. That way, he can communicate better with the Landlord your requirements etc. He/She may also be better in finding listings which other agencies can co-op with them, thus increasing the list of possible properties to see.
