renovation rent reduction

Moved to Hong Kong in August and our building is just about to undergo major renovations to outside and inside common areas. We were told about renovations a week before they were due to start and estimated to take 75 days.

Scaffolding now covers our whole building blocking our expensive sea view. Privacy and secuirity are major issues not to mention the noise. Have a 12 week old baby to add to the mix.

The real estate say that renovations lasting 75days are to short to break the contract however looking into rent reduction. How much rent reduction is fair? We pay 40K at the moment.

Thanks

I wouldn't expect much if anything. 75 days is not that bad...sometimes it takes more than a year.
