Village houses

We are thinking of purchasing a village house and had a couple of questions.


1) What is the standard construction material of both older and new/refurbished village houses?


2) What are the stanadard interior dimentions including the interior stair well (length and width).


3) Many of the houses we have seen have undergone major overhauls. Would it be typical for the electrical and plumbing to be upgraded as well?


4) We were quoted 1 million (and) as the cost up doing major renos, would that include plumbing and electrical upgrades?


5) What kind of shape are the foundations typically in? (a few cracks or in need of major work)

Thanks for your responses! Anyone know about the "typical" length and width of the village houses. My sister is an archatect and would like to fool around with some drawings, but I need to give her some dimentions. I've called a couple of real estate agents, but they've been pretty slow to return my call.
