Metro Town - Tiu Keng Leng

I just moved to this area this month. I really like the development - new, quiet, spacious apartments overlooking hillsides and the harbor. But, I'm not quite familiar with this area having lived in the HK-side before. I have yet to explore this part of HK. Any recommendations on any great shops or eateries at or near the area? If you're a new neighbor too, that would be an icing on the cake! I would love to meet new folks here! Thanks!

HI, I saw your post titled Metro Town and I am thinking of renting a unit either at Metro Town or Ocean Shore. How's your stay in Metro Town so far? Thank you =)

Cheers

So far so good. I highly recommend Metro Town. I like that the building is above the MTR station with a superb Club House - library, swimming pool (under construction), gym, bowling alley, home theatre, etc. The area is surrounded by rolling hills and only 28 minutes to the urban areas like TST or Central. There's a bus that goes to Sai Kung and Clear Water Bay which are places that have a feeling of peacefulness with fresh air!! THe only drawback is I haven't found any "western" style eateries here yet, not even one Pacific Coffee or Starbucks cafe. I can live with that but it just would be nice! Good luck!!

We have lived in Ocean Shores for 1 year now and really like it. There is a Starbucks at the APM mall-MTR Kwun Tong-and also a City Super fast food with MOS burgers, there is also an Oliver's sandwich place and many others...check it out. There is a Pacific Coffee at the Hang Hau mall where I go for some of my groceries at Jusco. There is also a Jusco at the APM mall. A little further is Kowloon Bay where you can find Ruby Tuesdays, Marks & Spencers and Ikea...Happy Exploring!

There's Fat Angelos if you take the MTR to Po Lam Station - Metro City Plaza. And you can also find the usual chain restaurants such as McD, KFC, Pizza Hut....

Oh - there's Starbucks @ Hang Hau as well.
