Hi,
Been living on Hong kong island for a year now, we are looking to move. As I have two young children 2y and 8 month, my husband and I would like 'fresher air' and more space. What could you tell me about the Gold coast. Is there a kindergarten near by? I am also looking for a place with lots of children, as our old area was not very child friendly.
All opinions are good to take...
Thnaks for your replies.

Have a look at Park Island. There's a kindergarten here and it's about 30 mins to Central. Lot's of playground and i see kids running around all the time. Oh, and there's lots of dogs too

Yes, there's an international kindergarten close by. I think there are probably lots of children as it's definitely an area where you get more for your money so families can afford to live there! If you send me a personal message I can send you a listing of available properties.

I have lived in the GC for ten years and have four children. It really depends on what budget you have and what type of schooling you are after.
The Gold Coast itself is often thought of as Phase one and two and the Marina. Phase two have larger apartments, beach houses and duplex accomodation all of varying rents and again depending on your budget.
Other high rise options would be the Aegean or Grand Pacific Heights. There are lots of houses in the area as well, although from what I have been told, it is difficult to get something at the moment.
There are several local and international school options.
Creativity Kindergarten is at Tai Lam a couple of km's down from Phase two. There is Jing Jing kindergarten in Tuen Mun, New Generation and Creative Kindergarten. For an International Kindergarten or nursery school, many children travel to Hon Lok Yuen and others head to the ESF kindergarten in Tsing Yi (all have buses).
Most club houses in the are offer play groups, music classes and other activities. There are plenty of toddlers around and all the apartment complexes have great pool and playground facilities.
It is a good location for young children, it becomes difficult with older children as middle school options in the New Territories are few and far between.
