Kowloon? Advice needed.....

ORIGINAL POST

My husband and I are moving to HK in August and we are both working within the new Union Square development. We want to live very close to work (as we expect to work very long hours!!) and we are after a place that has a gym/pool facility available to tenants.

Our ideal budget is 10-15k per month.

Any reccommendations on which would be the best area to start looking?

Thanks!

Kowloon Tong is still quite far away from Union Square, as there is no MTR station nearby! Your best bet is to look a bit closer, such as Jordan, Ho Man Tin Hill street etc...

Union Square is in West Kowloon, where the Kowloon airport express is. It is definetly NOT in Mong Kok!

What are you doing working in Union Square?? None of the new buildings are coming on line yet...

We will be running a restaurant owned by Dining Concepts (it doesn't have a name yet). It is not set to open until mid September.

That sounds right to me - they were throwing a number of names around for a while!

So do you think Jordan is a good place to look at rentals?

yeah i reckon its a good place to start... U can get a 2 bedroom apartment, 600 sq ft for bout $10,000 per month (non incl. govt rates and mgt fee)

I just bought a place near jordan. its considered TST according to the govt, but i reckon its Jordan. It will be a $15 cab ride into Union sq.

When you say $15 - is this based on USD or HKD?
