Where to live?

ORIGINAL POST

I will be relocating to HK in October, there's just the two of us and no kids. I'm keen to be close to central for ease of work. I have an allowance of HK$76K per month and am interested in what this will get me and where people recommend? Any help/guidance gratefully received.

Thanks, Paul.

For 76K you can choose pretty much any location. Would not choose Soho area as apartments tend to be a little on the small side.

Anywhere else and you will be able to get a very nice sized apartment with good facilities!

Hi Paul,

I'm not an agent, but actually can confirm that you'll have sth magnificent for 70+ K$ per month as an housing allowance. My friends (expat couple) have a 2 bedroom in Stanley for 20 K$.

For this money you could consider leaving on the Victoria Peak, up there it's quite, not polluted and nice view.

Good luck with yr house hunting - i'm searching myself right now... but w. a smaller allowance.
