Moving to HK

I'm moving to HK at the end of May, and just looking for some advice on places to live.

I'll be working in Tsuen Wan, however don't really want to live there.

Main considerations are not too dusty, and convenient transport links

Budget is around 10-12K

Also, do I need to wait for my visa to come thru before I can sign a lease?

Thanks

You should consider Sham Tseng - it is about a 10min drive to Tsuen Wan and it seems every 2nd bus and mini bus is going there. It is right on the waters edge with 3 supermarkets and lots of restaurants.

Do a search on this website or other similar xpat sites for a complex called Bellagio. There are probably about 50 real estate agents in Sham Tseng so just pick one when you arrive.

Hi, Warney Have you heard of Whampoa Garden in HungHom? I can help you to find newly renovated apartment there.

Hi Warney,

Whampoa Garden is a long way from Tsuen Wan. One direct bus that takes about 45 minutes at the best of times!!! Sham Tseng is a good option (15 minutes by bus) also Park Island (15 minutes by direct ferry.) Also Park Island direct ferry to central, that runs 24 hours. Have lived in both places so if you want any info just let me know. Sham Tseng around 850sq ft for 10k, Park Island around 750sq ft for 10k.
