looking for great place to live in NT

We want to NOT live in a high rise, but have a bit of nature around us. My sweetheart will be working in Maonshan and me in Taipo. Suggestions? We also want something bigger than 700 square feet!

What's your budget? Are there just two of you? Will you have a car?

Suggest you look up some Sai Kung Agents over the weekend and see what village house options you may have. Its decent out there, air is better and nicer people!!

Tai Po is quite expensive for anything over 700 square feet (prices range from 12K up). Why not try a bit further out, like Sheung Shui - it is definitely cheaper and being on the KCR line, makes the travelling to both Tai Po and Ma On Shan very very easy and it is also quite fast.

In Sheung Shui there is a complex called Woodland Crest - it is great with all apartments over 800 square feet and beautiful landscaped gardens, gym, swimming pool..... Worth having a look. For flats of a similar size, the price difference between Tai Po area and Sheung Shui is about 5-6K per month. The closer you get to Shatin, or just further along the KCR line, the more expensive things get. Flats in Shatin of about 800 sq.ft are also expensive - you could be looking at anything from 15K - 25K, depending on the location and size.

You may like a village house, but transport from Sai Kung can be a bit problematic, so many get a car - not sure if that figures in your plans.
