starting a timber flooring and wine distribution business in hk

I'm thinking of setting up a business distributing timber flooring and wine in hk. Does anyone have any idea on how i should start this?

Why that combination? I have been thinking there might be some opportunities to import some better beers. Where are you thinking of getting the wine from (much less the timber flooring)?

Most likely Sit has an edge in those two product categories. Perhaps he has a good source for flooring and wine and even credit terms which would be a definitely advantage at getting the biz up and running.


Sit, depending on what you're advantage is in timber flooring you may be able to get the flooring suppliers esp in wanchai to carry your line. Do you have competitive pricing or exclusive source for a quality product?

But my experience is that HK is quite a small market. You may just use it as a base to launch into other markets as well.

Also when I set up my home decor textiles biz I found it easily to hire very experienced staff with good connections into the industry. Jobsdb.com is a good way to recruit. Definitley worth it to hire talent for their expertise and connections rather than try to establish it yourself
