I am planning to practice as a freelance designer. Do I have to register a HK limited company to do this or can I practice without a company registration?

setting up companies in HK is very expensive.

can anyone advise please?

You can set up a business as a sole trader rather than a limited company because you're doing freelance work. It's not expensive to register a business name and it can be renewed yearly.
