Hi I lived in HK some years back in a company provided flat. I'm moving back and going to rent my own place. I have one outstanding issue I need to resolve. I am paid in the USA to a US based bank (there is no option of being paid in local currency in HKG). I do not have an HK based bank account. What's the best way to pay my monthly rent? Start a local account and xfer the money from the USA monthly, wire transfer direct to the landlord, or am I stuck with going to HSBC Premier?

you could do a telegraphic transfer from the US to your HK land lord's bank account each month. Depending on your bank it could be set up to run every month. Would cost anywhere from US$20-50 each time.
