You'd can read your building's DMC and call the Building Department for details. Generally, altering load bearing walls is a very bad idea.

two issues: your wall might be load bearing, in which case you need building dept approval which in turn means you need an AP to sign off (cost about 30-70k i was once quoted).


second issue is that your bld mgt might prohibit it based on the DMC or other relevant documents.


generally not a good idea to do this

better to get someone who is a professional to look at it first. even if you get approval (by some reason) it wouldnt be responsible
