I will be taking a sabbatical soon and need to rent out my flat in order to cover the mortgage. Ordnarily I would not skimp on expenses, but as I will be without an income, I have to be smart about it as well.
One of the large expenses would be paying commission for an agent to rent the place out. This will be a fairly large expense for me, but considering I will be travelling a lot, might be worth it if they offer good service e.g. helping out with the tenant's issues from time to time.
Does anyone know if property agents do this? The one I use in Singapore offers excellent service (without having to pay for property management services), and I never have to deal with any tenant issues. Is it reasonable to expect this service in HK from time to time, if I use a high-end agency?

That is an advertising fee (360) ... not a commission. The alternative is half a months rent in commission - so quite a superb deal.
